LinkedInHey all. Long time no chat! So I've been reworking my website,
Lacuna Quills, and making appropriate changes involving new content and whatnot. I've been trying to remember all the html I learned last year with some actual success. I'm glad that I can just look at my old .html files and pick out the basics. It's surprising because I don't usually think of myself as a tech person- but you know what they say, put a little effort into it and you can accomplish great things...or just some small amount of coding. Hah!
So I've added links to my LinkedIn, DevArt and Twitter accounts among other things. I still need to add some of my latest paintings to the digital art gallery and some animations to the animation gallery. Got to get up those paintings though because I applied to the Disney Talent Development Program. We'll see what happens. Anyways I also need to take down some seriously outdated animations. It's funny how proud I was of them at the time and how horrible they look now, hah! Same goes for my Deviant Art account. I moved a ton of stuff to the Scrapbook gallery that I wasn't comfortable having in my main gallery.
Like I said, it's funny to see how much your skills and style change over the course of a decade. Now I have new goals to aim for. Outside of my personal work, I need to work more on environment(especially architecture, cityscapes, etc) and pushing outside of my usual style restrictions into some more unique caricaturization. Is that a word? I also really really need to stop relying so much on the chalk brush and try to get better textures into my paintings. I'm working on a townscape right now that's arid in nature. I'm using so many textures that the loading time is getting pretty ridiculous. I think it's time to merge a few layers, right?
